The current coach of the Georgian national football team has had a distinguished footballing career; making a name for himself in England with over 70 appearances for Newcastle, coupled with his infamous goal celebration against Bolton.

The 45 year old though enjoyed the best football of his career

with spells in both Greece and Cyprus. Ketsbaia had a three

year spell with AEK Athens, notching up 84 appearances and

scoring 24 goals. Winning the league and the Greek cup in his

time with the “Kitrinomavroi”.

Ketsbaia however achieved legendary status in Cyprus, in particular with Anorthosis. Having two spells playing with the club from 1992-94 and 2002-06. Ketsbaia then created history as manager of Anorthosistaking them to the group stages of the Champions Leaguein 2008-09. Anothosis were the first Cypriot team to do so.

Κρίναμε σκόπιμο να ακούσουμε τις απόψεις για “το τι μέλλει γενέσθαι” στον ΚΟΠΑ, του επίτιμου προέδρου του Οργανισμού, κ. Χαμπή Προδρόμου, ο οποίος υπηρέτησε συνολικά 25 χρόνια από την θέση αυτή.

Ο Χαμπής Προδρόμου εξελέγη πρώτος πρόεδρος του ΚΟΠΑ το 1975 μέχρι το 2000, εκτός της περιόδου 1977-78, λόγω της απουσίας του στην Κύπρο, και παρά το γεγονός ότι δεν είναι ενεργό μέλος εδώ και 13 χρόνια εντούτοις το ενδιαφέρον του για το παροικιακό πρωτάθλημα παραμένει και συνεχίζει να δίνει τις συμβουλές και εισηγήσεις του όποτε χρειαστεί.
